Inclement Weather Policy
Meadowlark Music Together will make the call for each inclement weather day and we will not necessarily be following Lawrence Public Schools this year. Please check our Facebook page for updates, along with your email. If you need to bring any non-enrolled children to class on a LPS delay or cancellation day, please feel free as long as everyone participates in class. (We will probably not close for "cold", just for bad driving conditions.) We will do our very best to reschedule all missed classes due to inclement weather. If you are unable to make a class due to weather, please take advantage of our open make-up policy. All make-ups must be used in the same semester.
I passed Certification 1!
In August, 2012, in Denver, Colorado, I took and passed my intense Certification 1 training. In my initial training, back in 2009, I learned the basics of the Music Together program and how to teach it. In this Certification 1 training, I demonstrated a mastery of the program and my teaching skills. I helped to train new teachers of Music Together. The best part of the weekend was working with and learning from Dr. Lili Levinowitz, one of the developers of the program. She is a leading researcher in Early Childhood Music Development in the country. It's great to have actual research behind us, not just the great music and philosophy. Thank you, Lili, and all my fellow teachers!
